How much money did our parents spent buying a family computer or a personal laptop? A hundred dollars? Or maybe a thousand dollars? CHIP is a $9 tiny, super cheap and powerful computer. This tiny computer runs a Linux Operating System with a specs of 1GHz single core processor, 512MB Ram, 4GB of storage and built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. It can also access thousands of Open Source apps such as Chromium for browsing the internet, LibreOffice for editing and creating documents or spreadsheet, VLC Media Player for playing video and audio files and a lot more. According to the CHIPs Kickstarter page, C.H.I.P. is a computer for students, teachers, grandparents, children, artists, makers, hackers, and inventors. C.H.I.P. is a great way to add a computer to your life and the perfect way to power your computer based projects. Next Thing Co., the company behind this tiny computer, asked for $50,000 USD in crowdfunding campaign at Kickstarter. At the time of this writing, they have raised nearly $1,110,000 USD with 22 days remaining. It is said that if everything goes according to the plan, CHIP's alpha model will be ship on December this year and with the full run expected to be shipped on May 2016. So if you want a tiny computer that looks good beside a banana, $9 is not a big waste of money.
